Pennsic 52 A&S War Point Submissions

by Baronesa Beatriz Aluares de la Oya

Greetings, fair Atlantia! Spring has arrived and with it, the rumors of War and an exciting new opportunity to demonstrate the prowess of Atlantian artisans!

Pennsic 52 brings a new twist to a familiar event – a Purple War! This year, Atlantia will ally with Æthelmearc against the East Kingdom and the Middle Kingdom as one of the principal kingdoms hosting Pennsic War. Whereas we can usually only field the Kingdom’s single A&S Champion, this year, as a principal kingdom, we are invited to join Æthelmearc to field a team of FIVE!! artisans and craftspersons in the Arts & Sciences War Point competition on Monday, August 4, 2025

If you are interested in participating in the War Point competition, please read the following information carefully, and submit your application and documentation no later than Friday, May 5, 2025.

Details: Members of the War Point team must be able to attend the War Point competition in person, and must be present in person (no proxies allowed) at the competition on Monday, August 4 for their assigned judging appointment.

The competition is divided into three divisions (Laurel, non-Laurel, and overall winner) with one winner chosen for each division. Entries should fit into one of the following categories, and the War Point team will be looking to spread the entry spots among these categories as much as possible:

  • Made Objects (Studio/Fine Arts)
  • Made Objects (Fiber/Textile/Clothing)
  • Made Objects (Domestic/Archaeology/Lived Objects)
  • Food & Beverage
  • Performance
  • Research Project & Paper

Due to the short turnaround time between the application process and Pennsic, we strongly recommend that entrants plan to submit a project they have already completed or that is substantially underway and on track to be completed well before Pennsic. Team members will be provided with copies of the competition judging rubrics, and will have check ins and support available from the War Point committee during the lead up to Pennsic.

If you are interested in competing as part of Atlantia’s War Point A&S team, please fill out the linked Google form, and email a copy of your documentation to competitions AT moas.atlantia.sca.org.
